SUMMARY

The Taubensee Network Administrator will install, maintain, and support the organization's information technology systems. You'll test system components to ensure that computers, software, and network equipment function seamlessly together. The Network Administrator oversees the company's LAN, WAN, intranet, or Internet systems through the direction of department or company leadership. Additional responsibilities include focus on network security, IT audit, or system upgrade research.

 

DUTIES

  • Administer, maintain, and install networking components, including firewalls, routers, switches, cabling, WiFi, content management, security appliances, and other network services
  • Administer, maintain, and install computer servers, network attached storage, and virtual systems
  • Administer backup and recovery systems
  • Responsible for security and confidentiality of data
  • Design and implement periodic system maintenance and update schedules
  • Provide escalated or first response technical support, as needed
  • Document all aspects of network systems and IT department policies
  • Help support and train end users on implemented technologies
  • Travel to all TSW facilities to install systems, network components, troubleshoot, etc.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed

 

REQUIREMENTS

Technical Expertise

  • Able to perform effective hands-on technical support and can be a resource to anyone who needs technical aid
  • Has excellent understanding of network design standards and can effectively operate, administer, and maintain network and server systems by Apple, Microsoft, SCO UNIX, Redhat Linux, Debian Linux, Cisco, HP, and Others
  • Understanding of security, based on accepted industry standards
  • Has strong demonstrated understanding of additional network standards such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP, VLAN, Web Proxies, Firewalls, NAT, SSH, Telnet
  • Can operate, setup, configure, and troubleshoot VMware vSphere, VMware ESXi, Microsoft Windows, RedHat Linux, and Apple Mac OS X systems
  • Understands the importance of backing up systems and proper maintenance of in production systems

 

Education & Experience

  • Positive and professional attitude required
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, 4+ years of experience preferred
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) along with strong organizational skills are required
