To Our Valued Customers:

As we have communicated in prior letters, we continue to see multiple price increases from our wire rod suppliers, due in part to changes in scrap. Additionally, some domestic mills continue to experience production issues preventing them from reaching full capacity as well as several scheduling downtime over the next few months for maintenance issues. As imports continue to be limited, wire rod supply remains tight with the reality it could become much tighter as we progress thru the third quarter.

TSW has worked hard to mitigate these increases; however we have been forced to incur these costs along with other incremental increases as we work to maintain a stable rod supply. We have also incurred additional manufacturing costs relative to our production process which include; lubes, oils, acids and natural gas to name just a few. As a result, we are implementing a price increase of $80 / ton ($4.00 cwt) on all wire products effective with shipments August 4, 2008.

Based on an additional rod increases recently announced by domestic rod producers, Taubensee Steel & Wire Company will be implementing a $70 / ton ($3.50 cwt) price increase on all wire products effective with shipments June 30, 2008.

To Our Valued Customers:

As we have been communicating, supply of wire rod has become very tight enabling the domestic rod industry to continue pushing thru raw material increases on almost a monthly basis. Supply is expected to decrease as we move into the second quarter as imports still are not available compounded by several domestic mills experiencing production problems reducing their output. Additionally, key domestic suppliers have scheduled maintenance shutdowns over the next 30-60 days, which will also reduce available supply. As a result, rod inventories are at a point where we no longer are able to defer mill increases for our normal 30-day period as we are now consuming rod as it becomes available...
