Marketing Intern – Wheeling, IL

COMPENSATION:

$12 hourly

SUMMARY

The Marketing Intern will identify and initiate relationships with decision makers in the steel industry. Assist with lead generation and lead qualification of potential Taubensee Steel and Wire customers. Responsibilities will include updating databases, sales prospecting, customer/market surveys and working with our current sales team to gain product knowledge and communicate lead information. The Intern will also communicate industry information gained from their discussions back to TSW sales and marketing personnel.

DUTIES

Investigate leads generated from internet traffic and www.taubensee.com
Add to and maintain lead account database, as well as update current customer database if needed
Make outbound lead qualification calls to potential customers, delivering prepared sales talks, reading from scripts that describe products or services
Record names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects contacted
Obtain names and telephone numbers of potential customers from external sources
Conduct market surveys to obtain information about potential or current customers
Continue to enhance product and company knowledge
Participate in all recommended training programs
Attend weekly sales meetings
Assist in various marketing responsibilities including: Trade Show planning, website development, blog postings, campaign tasks, product photo development
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Current student of business, sales or marketing. Seniors are preferred as there is a strong opportunity for this to lead to a full time position. Proficient use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint is a positive. Strong verbal and written communication skills, professionalism and positive attitude required. Outgoing, goal driven, competitive team players will shine in this position.
