History: The Strength of Tradition and
Experience
It was
a proud moment for Tom Taubensee, his father, Henry, and his brother
Jack, on a summer day in 1946 when the new sign was raised at
a small warehouse on Chicago's west side, signifying the beginning
of Taubensee Steel Company. From this modest beginning, Taubensee
Steel & Wire Company has grown from a local steel source to
the Midwest's leading supplier of steel wire and cold drawn bars.
An unyielding commitment to hard work and exceptional quality
brought about an expansion in 1950 to Franklin Park, IL. Thirty
years later, a new 80,000 square-foot facility in Wheeling became
home. Which has since been expanded to 150,000 square feet. Fifteen
years after that, the expansion continued into Henderson, Kentucky
with a state-of-the-art facility in excess of 110,000 square feet.
From
our 5,000 square-foot warehouse beginning in 1946 to our two-location
production facilities in 1996 totaling 290,000 square feet, Taubensee
Steel & Wire Company's history has been rich with great customers
who are the foundation of our business, and dedicated employees
who have made this all happen. Commitment to quality and service
are a priority, resulting in the establishment of a company which
is a leader in its industry. This tradition of excellence continues
in the new millennium. Even with all of the technological changes
and advances we have experienced, it is our traditional values
that have brought us where we are today. |
